Text-to-CAD
This text-to-CAD web app was part of a development project at Visendi where the possibilities and limitations of using fine-tuned Large Language Models (LLMs) for generating CAD in Boundary Representation (BREP) format were investigated. BREP is commonly used in engineering, as it defines the exact geometry of the part to be manufactured, ensuring precision and adherence to design specifications.

While describing geometries using only words can be challenging, a text-to-CAD feature may be useful in a broader toolbox of design tools, especially in the early conceptualization stages when few details are set and you want to bring ideas to life.

Try it for yourself: use words to describe an object and get a CAD model built for you. This proof-of-concept (POC) is limited and only works for simple geometries; see the examples below.
